  • Kettering Health Main Campus, formerly Kettering Medical Center, is the flagship hospital of Kettering Health and has been serving Kettering, Ohio and the Greater Dayton area since 1964.
  • The facility includes the Benjamin and Marian Schuster Heart Hospital, maternity service with a level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and level II Emergency Care.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Provides assessment of educational needs and facilitation of unit compliance. Assists Clinical Nurse Manager in identification, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of unit activities, projects, and hospital wide programs. The Assistant Nurse Manager reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

  • Serves as a clinical resource for staff regarding standards and provision of patient care
  • Participates as representative as indicated by Clinical Nurse Manager/Director
  • Demonstrates continued progress by improving competencies and skill development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates self-motivation, independent work habits and flexibility
  • Demonstrates current nursing knowledge
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to departmental policies and procedures

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required within 3 years of employment
  • Active RN license in the state of Ohio
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience
  • Primarily pm and night shifts.  A minimum of 50% of time must be after 7:00 pm and before 7:00 am
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC per unit requirement
  • Demonstrates leadership and teaching abilities
  • Demonstrates professional and ethical behavior
  • Must be passionate about nursing and teamwork
