Responsible for the day to day operation of all network outpatient oncology physician clinicsManages a team of 30+ Registered Nurses/Certified Medical Assistants, and Advanced Practice Providers, providing leadership, clinical practice guidelines, staff development, and evaluating patient services. This role is directly responsible for setting, maintaining and continually improving the operational flow of a cancer patient’s experience with all Oncology Physicians. The position demands a high level of interaction and responsibility to and for a multi-disciplinary physician group. The individual in the role has ultimate responsibility for the Oncology Access Center telephone triage program, accommodating over 600 patient telephone calls per day. Performs management functions related to HR activities such as hiring/firing, corrective actions, attendance, competencies and educational needs. Maintains the department finances, budget and productivity.  Maintains a patient oriented, customer service environment.


Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Manages day to day operations, including staffing based on volumes and acuities, demonstrates knowledge of and compliance to ONS and KHN chemotherapy/biotherapy guidelines and departmental/network policies and procedures, knowledge of drugs, therapies, and treatments ordered by physicians. 
  • Advocates for physicians, staff and patients.
  • Utilization of EMR for scheduling, documentation, report generation and auditing.  
  • Implementation and development of performance and process improvement projects and monitors and maintains quality metrics. 
  • Participates in Oncology Service Line initiatives, meetings, committees and related Division/hospital/network committees/meetings. 
  • Responds to patient concerns and tracks and reports unit incidents. Hours vary. 


  • Education: RN, OCN- 5 years RN experience, Current OH Nursing license required; certified in CPR. BSN preferred
  • 5 years minimum of nursing experience
  • 2 years minimum of Oncology and/or Supervisor experience required
  • Effective communicator
  • Current State of Ohio Registered Nursing License 



Office setting. Large, fast paced, dynamic work environment.  Collaboration for interdisciplinary care and efficient operations between multiple departments and the Oncology Service Line.  Potential exposure to pathogens and bio-hazardous chemicals. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Certified, preferred
  • Previous Practice Management preferred
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
